NILES – With 30 years of experience behind the chair, Niles woman Lawana Wortham is stepping out on her own at Anew Divine Beauty Salon, 1200 W. River Road, in Niles. Her new salon will open officially Thursday, welcoming in her guests to the space she has redesigned into the salon she always hoped she would own.

Anew Divine Beauty Salon has five hair stylist stations on the first floor, in addition to a sixth with a privacy curtain, a pedicure throne, a manicure table, a room for brow and lash services, and a barbershop upstairs to accommodate everyone. Central Banks to Pour Money Into Economy Despite Sharp Rebound

(Bloomberg) — The aggressive rebound in global economic growth still isn’t enough for most of the world’s central banks to pull back on their emergency stimulus.In Bloomberg’s quarterly review of monetary policy covering 90% of the world economy, the Federal Reserve, European Central Bank and Bank of Japan are among the 16 institutions set to hold interest rates this year.The outlook suggests officials still want to guarantee the recovery from last year’s coronavirus recession by maintaining ultra-low borrowing costs and asset-buying programs. That may require them to accept any accompanying bounce in inflation.Six central banks, most of them in emerging markets, are still predicted to hike, including Brazil, Russia and Nigeria. Two months after the sparkling Thompson Dallas hotel debuted in a historic building downtown, its spa is ready to pamper hotel guests — or visitors who just want to drop by for some primping and pool time. The Spa at Thompson Dallas opens its doors on Friday, January 22, offering luxe beauty and wellness treatments, hair styling, nail services, and more.
