Lisa Maffia has told fans how the pandemic almost totally destroyed her business dream.
The former So Solid Crew star has opened her own beauty salon in Margate, Kent, but says it nearly didn’t happen.
Salon 48’s door are now open and the 41-year-old star has revealed how she just couldn’t give up.
Covid nearly wrecked her business plan as salons were forced to close for much of the last year but Lisa is now able to offer customers treatments including teeth whitening and massages in the coastal hot spot.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Lisa has told about how she refused to be beaten by the deadly bug and the lockdown that almost spoiled it all.
She now says she wants to see fans – and give them some fantastic treatments.
She wrote: “On the last day of tour 13th March 2020 just 15 days before the first national lockdown, I said to myself, I’m so glad I got to tour with everyone but even more glad that I was getting this unusual but needed break!
“By April 2020, 59 events through UC Bookings was cancelled and I started to panic.
“I was thinking wow what now! I had a full diary in January 2020, the year was looking great!
“One by one the gigs where going!
“I had just toured, had a load of money from it so decided to push it into @salon48_ sadly after gutting it we was unable to build bcos all the shops were closed due to the pandemic.”
She went on: “In October 2020 we finally opened our doors, only to be closed again 2 weeks later then the government allowed us to open again but closed again a week later! Madness
“We managed to launch without a launch party.
“Thank you so everyone that follows @salon48_. I appreciate you. Thank you to everyone that’s popped in so far.
“I love you. Come see me!”
The salon had to shut again when the third national lockdown came into force but she was finally able to thrown open the doors once again in April.
