According to statistics provided by Everlane, 97% of its apparel materials containing polyester and nylon are made from certified recycled fibers. “That material is made from recycling plastic water bottles, fishing nets, fabric excess from cutting patterns, and other items otherwise destined for the waste stream,” the site reads.

Reformation’s website says, “being naked is the #1 most sustainable option. We’re #2.” The brand says it uses “low-impact materials, rescued deadstock fabrics and repurposed vintage clothing” to create its products. The company will pay past customers who send the Reformation clothing they no longer want to wear back to them, so they can create new and improved pieces.

Nike has put forth a “Move to Zero” initiative for its apparel, which vows to move Nike’s carbon footprint to virtually nothing. Nike also offers No Rush Shipping, which opts for ground-only shipping. This is considered a “less carbon-intensive” option compared to air freight.
