9 Amazing Hotel and Day Spas at the Jersey Shore

Because a massage or facial by the beach beats anything you’re doing at home.

These nine spas at the Jersey Shore will help you relax and recharge, whether or not you’re hitting the beach after. / Photograph courtesy of Wave Resort.

We all know that Memorial Day weekend is the *official* kick-off to summer shore season. But the beauty of the Jersey Shore is that you don’t necessarily have to limit yourself to that three-ish month window to enjoy those beloved sandy towns. (Autumn down the shore is a gem, FYI.)

No matter when you’re heading to your favorite shore point (and stopping for some grub on the way), you can maximize your R&R time by getting pampered at the spa. Below, find nine resort and day spas at the Jersey Shore that’ll make you feel totally relaxed and rejuvenated — without ever needing to break out the beach tags.

Resort Spas

Exhale Spa + Bathhouse

Ocean Casino Resort, Atlantic City

At Exhale Spa + Bathhouse, you’ll find respite from the high-energy table games and entertainment inside its AC resort. The 40,000-square-foot spa offers a menu of relaxing therapies like massages, facials, body wraps and scrubs, plus beauty treatments such as waxing and brow shaping. Plus, Exhale is home to a bathhouse — featuring a jacuzzi, jetted pool, and Himalayan salt grotto — for you to enjoy for one hour after your treatment.

Rock Spa & Salon

Hard Rock Hotel, Atlantic City

Hard Rock Hotel was recently named the Best Hotel in Atlantic City by U.S. News & World Report — and for good reason. In addition to a robust casino, a number of dining options, and live performances from big-name celebs, the resort also has a full-service salon. With 31 treatment rooms, Rock Spa & Salon blends Hard Rock’s signature music-centric style with a spa’s tranquil ambiance. There are massages set to curated soundtracks, facials and body wraps that incorporate sound vibration, and an array of beauty services that’ll bring out your inner rockstar. Want to really relax? Opt for a CBD-infused treatment (including a pedicure!).

Salt Spa at The Reeds

The Reeds at Shelter Haven, Stone Harbor

The Reeds at Shelter Haven down in Stone Harbor is the crème de la crème of shore getaways. Each room feels like a mini oasis, you can kayak or go paddleboarding right from the resort’s dock, and don’t even get us started about the margs at the open-air restaurant Buckets overlooking the bay. It’s no wonder Oprah stays here whenever she’s in town. Its spa, Salt Spa at The Reeds, will make it even tougher to leave. While you can of course opt for a massage, facial, mani/pedi, haircut and color, tanning sesh, or floatation therapy, you’d be remiss not to try a mud treatment or scrub in the Turkish Bath — the only one of its kind down the shore.

Sea Spa

Congress Hall, Cape May

No Cape May visit is complete without a stop at Congress Hall. Sure, sipping cocktails in the Adirondack chairs is the go-to, but don’t skip the Sea Spa. In cabana-style rooms, get pampered with a massage, facial (with a list of enhancements!), body wrap, or wax session. The spa also offers more luxe versions, called Rituals and Experiences, that typically combine treatments into one, super-soothing package.

Wave Spa

Wave Resort & Spa, Long Branch

This Long Branch-based resort and spa is situated right off the beach, meaning the sounds of the ocean and picturesque views are oh! so! close! Wave Spa specializes in bodywork, with 10 different massages to choose from — everything from deep tissue to sports recovery to prenatal. You can also opt for a scrub or wrap, both of which utilize elements from the sea, including algae extracts, marine mud and black sand.

Day Spas

Beach House Spa

1709 North Long Beach Boulevard, Surf City

This boutique day spa in LBI has been offering personalized beauty and body treatments since 2016. At Beach House Spa, choose from a list of facials and advanced skincare treatments (think hydrafacials and microdermabrasion), massages, and waxing options — or opt for a combo package if you want the full shebang. Plus, the team does event makeup (perfect for shore brides and bridal parties!), airbrush tanning, and lash extensions.

Cape May Day Spa & Holistic Center

607 Jefferson Street, Cape May

This quaint day spa in Cape May is the perfect option for those rainy beach afternoons or days when you’re just stopping through. Bring your S.O. to enjoy one of the Couple’s Escapes, many of which combine a massage with another treatment, or visit with your bestie for side-by-side facials. Of course there are options if you’re riding solo, but where’s the fun in that?

Kur Wellness Studios

412 Bond Street, Asbury Park

What sets this Asbury Park wellness center apart is that it operates as both a day spa and a fitness space. That way, you can unwind in every way possible. Kur’s spa services include a variety of massages (like an Ayurvedic massage customized to your dosha, or your specific life force), skincare treatments, and reflexology. If you’re looking to move your body, there’s an on-site yoga studio that doubles as a personal training space.

Spa Avalon

2488 Dune Drive, Avalon

Located in the heart of Avalon, this day spa is open year-round, with hours shifting with the season. Offerings include seven different massages (all of which come with complementary aromatherapy), a range of facials and skincare treatments, chemical peels, manis/pedis, and hair removal. Want to make a day out of it? Spa Avalon has five specialty packages that’ll see you relaxing from head to toe anywhere between two to four hours.
