Last year’s Pride celebration marked the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, culminating in worldwide marches, parades, demonstrations, and weekend-long celebrations.
This year, however, with protests prompted by the killing of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and more Black people at the hands of the police, and stay-at-home orders still in effect for many due to the pandemic, Pride month is not looking like those in years past.
That said, now it’s more important than ever to celebrate love and togetherness, whether or not physical Pride parades are taking place. And one easy way to spread all that love around is to put your money toward a good cause — by donating to organizations that honor, advocate for, and benefit the LGBTQ+ community.
With many fashion brands getting in on the celebration with Pride collections, you can also shop for an outfit to match this month, knowing that proceeds from your purchase are going to organizations that fight for LGBTQ+ rights. Some, like Puma and ASOS, are designing Pride-themed collections in honor of June’s arrival, while others, like our faves TomboyX and Otherwild, focus on queer organizations all year round.

Continuing their long-standing solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community, American Apparel teamed with celebrity hairstylist, Andrew Fitzsimmons, on a 6-piece “How We Love” limited-edition capsule collection. But that’s not the best part. 100% of the net proceeds from the “How We Love” capsule will go to the Los Angeles LGBT Center, specifically, its Trans-Cosmetic Donations Drive, created by Fitzsimmons.

American Eagle Outfitters
American Eagle is partnering up with the It Gets Better Project to deliver a capsule collection of colorful apparel, accessories, and shoes for us to don in June and beyond. As part of their collaboration, the brand will be donating 100% of the proceeds to It Gets Better Project, in order to connect LGBTQ+ youth with the global LGBTQ+ community.

You might have already seen Baja East’s Pride capsule line, made of four tie-dye pieces (hand-dyed by the brand’s Founder and Creative Director Scott Studenberg), on Lady Gaga’s Instagram. Now y
ou can shop it, with a portion of the proceeds from the sales benefitting the Born This Way Foundation, the singer’s nonprofit organization committed to supporting the wellness of young people.

Calvin Klein
In addition to its #ProudInMyCalvins campaign starring Ama Elsesser, Tommy Dorfman, Jari Jones, Gia Woods, and more, Calvin Klein is also making a donation to onePULSE Foundation, a nonprofit set up by the owner of Orlando’s Pulse Nightclub where the 2016 mass shooting took place; the donation will go toward funding a scholarship in honor of Frank Hernandez, a Calvin Klein store manager who was tragically killed there. Calvin Klein’s parent company, PVH, created a $1 million grant for the organization, as well. Additionally, the brand is donating to The Equality Project, an Australian charity that offers support for members of the LGBTQ+ community and their families.

Since its first Pride collection in 2015, Converse has consistently made contributions to organizations like It Gets Better Project, BAGLY, the Ali Forney Center, and Out MetroWest. This year is no exception with shoes and apparel inspired by the “More Color, More Pride” flag, which includes black and brown stripes to be more inclusive of people of color.

Dr. Martens
To celebrate Pride, Dr. Martens dropped its signature 1460 boots stitched with the rainbow flag, as well as donated $25,000 to The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ+ young people.

Fabletics
Active lifestyle brand Fabletics is donating 10 percent of net proceeds from its Pride capsule collection — which includes its popular sports bra and leggings in a new color — to It Gets Better Project, a nonprofit organization working to uplift and empower LGBTQ+ youth, with a minimum donation of $25,000.

For the second year in a row, American brand Fossil has released a Pride-themed watch design, the sales of which will benefit the nation’s oldest and largest LGBTQ+ youth organization, Hetrick-Martin Institute (HMI) — a longtime partner of Fossil’s — and the It Gets Better Project.

This year, Gap is celebrating World Pride by donating 15% of sales from their limited-edition Pride collection to the United Nations Foundation in order to support the UN Free & Equal Campaign for LGBTI equality.

Thought up in an old 800 square foot apartment, Green Box Shop is the solution to one woman’s inability to find real social justice reform apparel. Now, Kayla Robinson and her team make T-shirts that spread awareness for the LGBTQ+ community, as well as race, equality, and political reform.

In celebration of Pride month, Hunter sought out five members of the LGBTQ+ community to feature in their campaign, including London-based entertainer, ShayShay; Tia Simon-Campbell, co-founder of BBZ; host of BBC Radio 1’s Drag Queen Den, Glyn Fussell; Mexican-based gender-neutral model, Jay Espinosa; and Transgender dancer Lucy Fizz. All five have chosen a charity that means something to them individually, to which, the proceeds from Hunter’s limited-edition Pride rain boots will be donated.

Happy Socks x Phluid Project
Happy Socks collaborated with Phluid Project, a gender-free brand dedicated to empowering individuals to be themselves, on a collection of socks. Ten percent of net sales from each item will be donated to The Trevor Project, an organization that supports the mental wellbeing of LGBTQ youth.

Featuring apparel and accessories, showcasing the Pride rainbow and “Use Your Voice!” graphic (on faded tie-dye no less!), Levis’s Pride collection is also donating 100% of its net proceeds to OutRight Action International, an organization that works to advance LGBTQ+ rights worldwide.

From now, throughout the month of June, LOFT is donating 22% of the proceeds (up to $30,000) from its collection of size-inclusive tees and Pride-themed accessories, to GLSEN, an organization focused on creating safe school environments for LGBTQ+ students. Nordstrom
This year, Nordstrom teamed up with their longtime partner, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) to create an exclusive “Free to Be Me” capsule collection of Pride-themed t-shirts. For every t-shirt sale, the brand will donate 100% of the proceeds to the organization. But they’re not stopping there. In addition, Nordstrom’s also making additional grants to provide funding for a number of other LGBTQ+ nonprofits including the Hetrick-Martin Institute, Eagle, the Pride Foundation, and the LGBT Center Los Angeles.

New Balance
Not only has New Balance donated $100,000 to GLSEN, an organization focused on championing LGBTQ+ elementary-through-high school students, but the sportswear brand also committed to donating an additional $100,000 over the next two years to the organization’s Changing the Game program to create safe spaces in locker rooms and on-field. It also released a line of multicolored shoes and apparel to mark the celebration.

In partnership with model and The Trevor Project Hero Award winner Cara Delevingne, Puma created a 13-piece collection of colorful baby tees, pool slides, bum bags, and more — titled From Puma With Love — in honor of Pride month. As part of the campaign, Puma will be donating 20% of sales, with a max of $250,000, to the Cara Delevingne Foundation which
supports a number of prominent LGBTQ+ organizations including GLAAD and The Trevor Project.

Last month, Reebok released “All Types of Love,” an apparel and shoe collection, plus a campaign featuring activists and influencers in the LGBTQ+ community. The sportswear brand has also donated $75,000 to the It Gets Better Project.

Stutterheim
In celebration of Pride, Stockholm-based rainwear brand Stutterheim created two rainbow silhouettes, one for people and one for their four-legged friends. A portion of the sales of both limited-edition styles will go toward the Russian LGBT Network, an organization fighting for equal rights and enhanced visibility of LGBT people in Russia.
